TLC earns prestigious WBENC, WOSB certifications

The Library Corporation has been certified by the Women’s Business Enterprise National Council and the WBENC-administered U.S. Small Business Administration’s Women Owned Small Business Federal Contracting Program. The dual certifications give TLC the unique ability to compete for exclusive business opportunities provided by WBENC corporate members and government agencies.

“I am honored to be certified by an organization as renowned and respected as the Women’s Business Enterprise National Council,” said TLC President and CEO Annette Harwood Murphy. “Our company is blessed by the talents of dozens of employees worldwide, many of whom are women in leadership positions guiding the ongoing development of our software and services.”

Murphy co-founded TLC in 1974. The company provides automation and cataloging solutions to more than 4,500 libraries worldwide. TLC is based in Inwood, W.Va., and has additional offices in Denver, Singapore, London, and Ontario, Canada.

The Women’s Business Enterprise National Council, founded in 1997, is the largest third-party certifier of businesses owned, controlled, and operated by women in the United States. The Washington, D.C.-based national nonprofit partners with 14 Regional Partner Organizations to provide its world-class standard of certification to women-owned businesses throughout the country. WBENC is also the nation’s leading advocate of women-owned businesses as suppliers to America’s corporations.
