William F. Laman Public Library Chooses TLC

The Library Corporation is pleased to announce William F. Laman Public Library has chosen the LibrarySolution® integrated library system to deliver premier library management software and services for its patrons and staff. Laman Public Library will go live with LibrarySolution on September 20, 2017.

“We are so excited to be joining the TLC family with our implementation of the LibrarySolution software next week,” Crystal Gates, Executive Director of the Laman Public Library said. “We chose TLC and their LS package due to the innovative and cost-effective tools it provides both staff and patrons. The LS2 Staff platform and its smart search will enable us to provide more efficient circulation services both inside and outside library walls, while the web-based cataloging module and ITSMARC not only provide a streamlined method for cataloging, but will also save the library over$20,000.00 per year in tech services costs. Patrons will see an improvement in their catalog search experience and now have the ability to tag items. We are confident that the new system will enhance the services we offer our community.”

The Laman Public Library has a rich history. The original library was housed in a turn-of-the-century building at 211 Maple St. It was two stories, with books on the first level and living quarters on the second. Over the years there were many expansions and renovations. You can read more about the history of Laman Public Library at: http://www.lamanlibrary.org/page/48/history. William F. Laman Public Library is transitioning to LibrarySolution from an Innovative Interfaces, Inc.® ILS that has been in use since 2001. TLC’s software will enable patrons to place holds, download eBooks, and more from home or at the library’s main branch located at 2801 Orange Street or at the Argenta Branch at 420 Main Street, both in North Little Rock, Arkansas.
