Company Overview

TLC’s integrated library system for schools is specially designed to accommodate the needs of teacher-librarians in any school library. LibrarySolution® for Schools provides complete, seamless integration of its full suite of web-based interfaces. We partner with other industry leaders to keep your library software integrated.

Your school library may be eligible for grant funding to assist with the cost of a new TLC automation system. Finding and applying for appropriate grants can be a daunting process, but the payoff is well worth the effort.

Discovery

LS2 PAC, the web-based Public Access Catalog, is designed with the mobile experience in mind, scaling to accommodate display sizes ranging from smartphones to tablets to large touch screen computer monitors. Key features include: a My Account area with a highly visual, intuitive interface; seamless incorporation of eBooks and other digital content in your library’s catalog; and searching designed to be easy-to-use while leveraging the strength of library data for relevancy.

LS2 Kids is designed and developed for your district’s younger audience. Its app-like interface appeals to curious, playful, and naturally tech-savvy kids. LS2 Kids also includes Reading Level Integration, a powerful service that pulls data directly from Lexile and Accelerated Reader vendors and associates by ISBN for searching and display in LS2 Kids.

The LS2 Kids mascot, Scout, has a newsletter to highlight new features and other series-related news. Scout also gives tips and offers encouraging words to young readers.

Discovering records can't happen without good data. TLC Data Services include curated metadata records, on-demand eBook records, database RDAification, and Authority Control.

System Management

LS2 Staff is a web-based, full-featured circulation module with Floating Collection functionality and simplified self-checkout services. It works well on tablets, laptops, and desktops. When paired with a Bluetooth scanner, it gives you the freedom to perform a full range of circulation tasks from the circulation desk, on the library floor, or even in your bookmobile.

An increase in holds-based services and decrease in in-person library-time means a higher demand for items to have a correct availability status in the online catalog when patrons are searching for their next read, and to be in their correct shelf locations when staff are searching the shelves. TLC can help your library achieve its shelf management goals through with LS2 Inventory.

When New York State increased regulations regarding data security for students, Sullivan BOCES quickly implemented TLC•Cloud Services, the latest cloud hosting solution from TLC, to maintain compliance and secure student data without disruption to library services.

Analytics

LS2 Reports, powered by IBM Cognos, deliver a full array of library reports, lists, and notices to support your analytics needs. Styles include lists, notice forms, bar charts, pie charts, line graphs, and cross-tabs.

Use Lists & Actions functionality within LS2 Staff to create lists and on-the-fly reports to help with weeding, identifying high-value items, high and low demand titles, and many other tasks that all staff can participate in, even if they don’t have access to LS2 Reports.
