Financial Help

Your library may be eligible for grant funding to assist with the cost of a new TLC automation system or to provide safe, contactless services through options like the CARES ACT. Finding and applying for appropriate grants can be a daunting process, but the payoff is well worth the effort.

Pandemic Responses

As schools and libraries closed across the country to help mitigate the COVID-19 pandemic, there was concern over continued learning for students. LibrarySolution® for Schools makes it much easier to support the curriculum and otherwise keep students engaged and learning.

For school staff and students returning to physical campuses, we shared a few creative workflow ideas for managing a circulating classroom collection using LibrarySolution® for Schools. Use Academic Reserves, Responsible Party, and List Sharing functionality to manage all the library materials on the classroom syllabus, before setting foot on campus.

Libraries have had to adapt and grow to fit their community needs for as long as there have been communities and libraries to serve them. However, the COVID-19 pandemic has forced libraries to shift faster, in an unsteady trajectory, while discerning staff and patron safety. In this K12 schools-focused webinar, TLC’s Customer Success Manager, Melissa Powell, interviewed school library voices from the front line of the pandemic to identify their biggest challenges and how they’ve transformed.

Hygienic and Staff-Free Solutions

24/7 Library Service - The NovelBranch intelligent mini library provides borrowers with secure, intuitive access to a browsable collection of library materials. The NovelBranch features a sturdy transparent door which allows patrons to view the material with their own eyes while they make a selection. The discovery process feels natural and the checkout process is as easy as scanning a library card.

Portable UV Sterilizer - The Vray UV Sterilizer uses UV-C light to kill 99.9% of germs and to easily sterilize everyday items and surfaces in today's libraries and classrooms. Lightweight and cordless, the Vray is designed for easy portability and features a rechargeable battery. Capable of hands-free and portable operation, Vray can be used to sterilize anywhere and anything.

Digital Signage and Kiosks - Quickly and efficiently communicate important information with digital signage. Our All-In-One LED kiosks can be used to display announcements, or as full PAC stations. We also have options for sleek mounted monitors and stands to allow for mobile signage stations.

Accessible Learning - TLC has partnered with TeachSmart.org to provide libraries with access to the TAPit®, a Touch Accessible Platform for Interactive Technology. It is the first assistive learning center using "intended touch" to serve each individual's special needs. TAPit® serves a wide range of individual special needs

Virtual Learning - Who doesn't love playing games? TLC has partnered with Legends of Learning to help librarians and teachers create fun and productive learning environments through research-driven curriculum-based games. This adaptable and comprehensive edgame platform can be easily launched throughout your entire school system or right from your library.

Self-Service Stations

TLC is the only ILS vendor with its own automated material handling and RFID division, focused exclusively on libraries. Self-service locations don’t need to be tethered to a single location. By strategically deploying self-check solutions throughout your library, you can engage with your borrowers at a deeper level with a higher quality of service. We deliver the most customizable and flexible kiosk options available, with additional stations designed for children and young adults. Staff can monitor borrower progress remotely to insure a problem-free experience. These self-service stations can be easily configured to meet your library’s needs.

"Looking toward the future with diminishing budgets, we need to leverage today’s resources and technology for tomorrow’s audience."
