FEATURED SERIES CORNER
School for Good and Evil
It is sad to see a series end, but exciting when the series becomes a movie. This is the case with One True King, the sixth and final book released in June for The School for Good and Evil series. This series makes you ask who IS good and who IS evil. The movie on Netflix is in pre-production so stay tuned. In the meantime, the author, Soman Chainani, has penned a new book coming out sometime in 2021. To learn more, check out the website for The School of Good and Evil.
DID YOU KNOW?
Nick Bruel, the author of Bad Kitty, offered a free book, Wash Your Paws. The book is in black and white so if you can print it out, you can color it too. Download the book here.
NEWS FLASH
A lot of my favorite series are now adding graphic novels. A graphic novel is made up of content similar to a comic book and if you get hung up on a word sometimes the pictures can help you figure it out. The Magic Treehouse will publish their first graphic novel in May, Dinosaurs Before Dark, followed by The Knight at Dawn this Fall. My Weird School just released its first graphic novel, Mr. Corbett is in Orbit! Dav Pilkey released his latest, Cat Kid Comic Club. Other graphic novels already in circulation are Squish, Babymouse, Amulet, Bone, Lunch Lady, Wings of Fire, Babysitters Club, Diary of a Wimpy Kid, and Percy Jackson & the Olympians. Watch for others to add graphic novels to their collections. Another way to enjoy a good read!
MY FAVORITE THINGS
GOOD-BYE and good riddance to 2020! What a crazy year this has been. Let’s look to 2021 as a new beginning. There will be LOTS of new movies to look forward to, such as, Paw Patrol – August 20, Bad Guys – Sept 17, Clifford the Big Red Dog – November 5, The SpongeBob movie, Sponge on the Run – early 2021, to name a few, and PLENTY of new books to read. Hope you have a GREAT NEW YEAR! Stay safe and keep washing those paws (for a little longer).
